Varicocele is the disorder of pampiniform plexus – In simple terms, Varicocele is located inside the scrotum and it affects the smooth functioning of the testicles and it affects the veins that deliver blood and other vital hormones to the male reproductive glands. Veins inside the scrotum that surrounds the testicles are enlarged, thereby creating blockages and other abnormalities in the normal functioning of the whole reproductive system in men.

“Varicocele occurs inside the scrotum and is comparable to varicose veins of the leg and can be identified with self-examination or doctor assisted examination of the scrotum. A lump, swelling, enlarged veins that are noticeable externally, testicular atrophy or the reduction in the size of testes and sometimes even mild pain in the scrotum are the symptoms of varicocele. Scrotal Ultrasound helps in diagnosing varicocele in order to paint a detailed, exhaustive, accurate and in-depth picture of the spermatic veins and the overall condition of the disorder, “mentioned Dr. Ali Mehdi Zadeh, Consultant Urologist and Head of Kuwaiti German Urology Unit, Kuwait.

He added “Surgery is advised if the varicocele is causing relentless pain & discomfort or to restore the proper flow of sperm to restore fertility in men, thereby creating more likelihood of conceiving a child, although, the treatment must not be delayed, in case, if the patients are looking forward to restoring the quality of sperm production and getting rid of male infertility issues. The other kinds of treatments for varicocele include varicocelectomy & varicocele embolization and these procedures are required only if the conditions deteriorate further. “

علاج دوالي الخصية في الوحدة الكويتيه الالمانية لجراحةالكلى والمسالك البولية والتناسلية.
