Uroflowmetry testing or uroflow test at Kuwaiti German Urology Unit, Kuwait  is mostly performed on men with obstructive symptoms at the Male Urology Department.

The test, as the name indicates is carried out on patients to identify the cause of either slow urination or difficulty in urinating and to determine the amount of urine and the speed of urination.

“Uroflowmetry is just the study related to screening and does not involve any sort of equipment, instruments, invasions, catheterization or any other medications, this test gives us the information which will be later interpreted by our in-house urologists for further action on the patients, “ mentioned Dr. Ali Mehdi Zadeh, Consultant Urologist and Head of Kuwaiti German Urology Unit, Kuwait.

He further said “Needless to say, Uroflowmetry is performed on patients with full-bladder and in some rare cases, we perform bladder ultrasound to the patient prior to the uroflowmetry test to determine adequate urine volume. If the urine volume is found to be inadequate, the test procedure is delayed or postponed until the patient consumes more fluids and reaches an adequate bladder urine volume.
