Reduce sodium consumption to prevent the occurrences of kidney stones, according to urologists from Kuwait
According to specialist doctors and urologists at Kuwait Medical International, excessive sodium intake from salt and processed & canned, bakery items prepared with baking soda, foods like chips, snacks like salted nuts, fast-foods etc causes the kidneys to excrete more calcium into the urine and higher amounts of calcium in the urine coupled with phosphorus and oxalate leads to stones formation. So in order to prevent the occurrences of kidney stones, it’s quite sensible and logical to reduce sodium consumption rather than reducing calcium intake.
