Drink more water to prevent occurrence of calcium oxalate & uric acid stones says Dr. Ali Mehdi Zadeh
According to Dr. Ali MehdiZadeh, Consultant Urologist and Head of Kuwaiti German Urology Unit, CEO & Partner at Kuwait Medical International Company, excessive fluid intake, like water will thwart occurrence of all kinds of kidney stones by keeping urine diluted and thereby flushing away materials that might have potential to form stones.
For instance, restricting oxalate intake in the diet may help prevent calcium oxalate stones but will hardly do anything to prevent the occurrence of uric acid stones, every kind of a stone has got a different type of dietary recommendations. So the best solution to this kind of predicament is by keeping oneself adequately hydrated by drinking enough fluids, especially in this hot summer weather of Kuwait and the surrounding GCC region.
